A very rare officers home service helmet.
In 1862 the regiment was was re named to
107th REGIMENT OF FOOT. The regiment then embarked for England in 1875 and in 1881 it became the 2nd Battalion of The Sussex Regiment.

Cork covered blue cloth helmet Maker label HOBSON & SONS Lexington st, Golden Square London. Shop was acquired for Hobsons around 1880.
with gilt fittings
All in good order however the chin strap has detached from its backing in several places but nothing detracts from this outstanding helmet.
