The Royal Scots Regiment (1888 - 1901)
Blue cloth Helmet cork covered skull with Helmet Plate attributed to The Royal Scots (1890). The badge has universal wreath which is displaced with the Star of the Order of the Thistle in gilt on which is mounted a silver circle pierced “Nemo Me Impune Lacessit” on a green enameled ground. Within the circle on a convex green enameled ground, the Thistle in silver. The
universal title scrolls inscribed “The Royal Scots Regiment”. The title was changed to read "The Royal Scots" approximately 1890. This plate and helmet is in good condition. As is all fittings.

The blue helmet was only worn between 1888 and 1905 when the battalion adopted the Kilmarnock Bonnet
