The Albert helmet is a metal cavalry helmet in brass it has some historic damage plus some missing pieces that don't detract from display. It has been in the possession of an over zealous cleaner who has polished away the silver plating. the lining is missing. made in brass which is silver plated. complete with all its fittings and surmounted with a spike from which a white hair plume is attached.
In 1876 the Yorkshire dragoons changed to the 'Albert' pattern silver-plated/white metal Dragoon helmet with white horsehair plume
