BELEIVED BADGED FOR LORD LIEUTENANT OF SCOTLAND. PRE 1897 TYPE
A extremely rare example of this pattern of Drill Cap. With gilt lace border and patent leather peak embellished with bullion peak with a patent leather chinstrap attached inside the headband and fixed to the front a bullion cap badge of a thistle surmounted by a Victorian crown. Together with a gilt bullion “toorie" to the crown of the cap. The cap was faded out early 1901 with the change of dress regulations and the introduction of the new OSD.
